Retired, raise International quality Border Collies. Musician, play many instruments, write music. Write children's books, which are also songs. Build computers, been doing it since 1979. Live in the wilderness, love the outdoors. Voracious reader. If I don't know how to do it, I find out. Things I have learned: Always be 16 in your heart and you will never grow old; Never say you can't; The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask when you didn't know the answer.

Our Animals

I guess you've already figured out that one of our hobbies is raising Border Collies.  This is Anne writing.  I've been breeding animals since I was about five years old. I'm what they call a "Dog Whisperer", which means that no matter what the animal is, even if it is very bad-tempered, I can walk up to it and have it calmed down and loving me in just a few minutes. I've raised cats, dogs, birds, cows, flying squirrels, pigs, chickens, and I had a sheep, Mary Lamb, that my Granddaddy gave me when I was five. She was just a little lamb, and they have pictures of me feeding her with a baby bottle. I used to ride her.  She had the run of our yard, which was about five acres of lawn (ah, my aching feet, hands and back from that push mower!), and I think she thought she was a dog.  But when I discovered Border Collies, I knew I had found my destiny, as far as breeding animals goes.  They are the smartest dogs in the world, proven by a two-year study by scientists.  I don't need a scientst to tell me that.  My dogs understand complex sentences, past, present and future tense,  and they each have to have their own "titles" besides their names. Right now, we have nine dogs of our own, five Border Collies, and four others, three from the Humane Society and one that was found as a puppy. Our other dogs have learned from our Border Collies, and they have their "titles" too, and are all very smart. We have one cat from the Humane Society, Hannibal, and the other is the kitten of feral cats that live in the wilderness that adjoins our land. Our neighbors scared her mother when she was moving her kittens, and she dropped her and ran. So, of course, they brought her to me, eyes just open, and as wild as could be. I fed her on a bottle and endured the scratches and bites as I trained the years of inherited wildness out of her. My husband, Jim, named her Gizmo, because she looks like somebody cut up about 10 cats and then took one piece from each cat and made a new one.  But she is very small, and she ended up being called Itty-Bitty.  We also had a tiny point Asian Pot Belly Pig, Peggy Suey, who passed over to the Fur Angels in July at the age of 14-1/2. We miss her very much. You will see our other animals up here pretty soon.  It takes a lot of work to process all the photos and movies just to get them ready to upload, but I am working on it. They won't let me upload any file larger than 50 meg, and movie files are big, so I have to only upload short ones. Of our dogs from the Humane Society, one has four blue ribbons and one has one blue ribbon from their dog show every fall.  The third will get his this fall, I believe.  I'm going into the look-alike contest with him, he is a black and white sooner (sooner one kind as another) hound dog, and we are going to dress as members of the House of Lords.  I am very good at making costumes, and I have already made the wigs. He looks ridiculous, but then again, so do I! It will be fun!  It's very late, so I will go now. I'll let you know more about all our animals, past and present, later.  Please write about your pets too. I will welcome anything you wish to say.

Disgusted with Politicians

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am disgusted by almost every politician we have, except for Alabama's governor, Bob Riley, who will finish his second term, and cannot run again, which is a shame, because he is the only one we have ever had that actually had our interests in his head and his heart.  My Granddaddy didn't say much very often, but when he did, we all listened, because we knew it would be something important to know.  He told us (back in the 50's and early '60's when women didn't run for office), that if a man ran for office, and he seemed to have some good ideas, and he seemed like an honest person, then vote for him.  But if he ran for re-election, shoot him, because by then he is a crook. I've come to believe this more and more over the years.  I read the newspaper every day (unless the puppies eat it before I wake up), I watch the news, I read on the internet, and most of the time, I am so disgusted with the latest antics that I just want to go to whoever has done the latest horrible, self-serving, stupid thing and slap them upside the head with a wet fish, and say, "Wake up, you fool, you work for me!"  They have forgotten what they are supposed to do, and what they are supposed to be.  It is time for all of us, each and every American, regardless of any differences, to stand up together, and send a message to these people who are taking our homes and stomping our hearts flat.  We need to get rid of "career politicians" and elect people who will understand that if they don't do the job, we will vote THEM out of office the next time. And then, we DO it.! If people don't do the job they are paid for at their work, they will either be severely disciplined or they will be fired. These guys just vote themselves big raises and send money to people who hate us, while so many of our people, most of them children, live in poverty and fear of crime. DEMAND that our elected officials do something about the problems we have here, at home, in our own country, before they start sending billions of our hard-earned tax dollars to countries where the leaders steal it and it never gets to the people who need it.  It has been said that charity begins at home. I think that they need to understand that not only charity, but ethics, honor, honesty, compassion and help for people who want to work but need the skills to get a decent job is their job. Instead of jail, try rehabilitating the people who didn't commit violent crimes. That way, maybe they will be able to get jobs, learn to care for their children, learn the ethics, the honor, and the pride of standing on their own two feet.  And we won't have to pay for people to sit idle in "schools that teach crime (prisons)" instead of schools that teach life skills.  There is no excuse for anyone anymore not to let their voices be heard. Find your representatives, email the heck out of them about everything that they are doing that you hate. Tell them that it is shape up or be voted out! If enough of us stand together, we can fight big government, which is the death of our freedom.  LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

Main Page, Rules for blogging

Hi,
This is LadyeFaire, otherwise know as Mama Anne to many, many puppies, kittens, birds, pigs and assorted animals over my lifetime.  My husband, who will be know as Jim Bob, and I put up this website so that everyone could enjoy seeing our Border Collies and our puppies we have to offer.  We invite you to write in our blogs, but there are a few rules: 1) No Cursing; 2) No slamming sombody else; 3) no nasty statements about anything; 4) Act like an honorable, decent person. That's all we ask. I don't think this is too much to ask.  I will put up the topics, though  I may not write in them yet, as I am very busy still building the website and of course, taking care of puppies.  We have had puppies continuously since August 10, 2007, and since we raise them in playpens in the house for a number of reasons, which you will understand if you download the presentation that is in each folder, our house has turned into a kennel.  I wish I owned stock in cheap paper towel factories!  Also in whatever companies make Infamil and Similac!  Plus Puppy Chow and Pedigree dog food!  Ah well, we weren't meant to be rich, or we wouldn't raise dogs.  However, we do, so we raise the very best ones we can, International premium Border Collie puppies from exceptional Border Collies who are our family members, our children.  We ask that you respect that, and our ideas, even if you don't agree with them.  We welcome all reasonable suggestions as to how we can do this even better. In the meantime, write in whichever blog you wish, and I will okay them as fast as I can.  Thanks a bunch, Mama Anne
